Fishtail Braiding

Fishtail braids are great for long hair, they are a simple way to get your hair back and out of your face and still have your hair looking cute. They may seem like they would be a complicated but they are really easy to do. But keep in  mind that your hair needs to be a pretty good length for fishtails to be able to stay in. Also you want to make sure that you are pulling the hair tightly so it does not fall out later in the day.

Supplies:
  • Brush
  • Hair tie
Steps:
  1. Brush hair thoroughly to make sure there are no knots anywhere throughout hair.
  2. Divide your hair into to equal portions.
  3. Hold one section in your right hand and the other in your left.
  4. Take a small section of hair from the bottom of the left side and bring it over to the right side, pull it tight so it does not fall out.
  5. Take a small section of hair from the bottom of the right side and bring it over to the left side, pull it tight so it does not fall out.
  6. Alternate steps 4 and 5 until your hair is completely fishtailed.
  7. Final secure the braid with a hair tie.

Its as simple as that! The hardest thing about fishtailing is deciding how tightly to pull the sections of hair into the other side. If you do it right though your braid should look like this.
